Safiya Sinclair was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica. She is the author of Cannibal, winner of a Whiting Writers’ Award and the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Poetry, among others. Cannibal was a finalist for the Seamus Heaney First Book Award and was longlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize. How to Say Babylon is a finalist for National Book Critics Circle Award for Autobiography. Her work has appeared in the New Yorker, Granta, The Guardian and elsewhere.
