The Women’s Prize Trust enriches society by creating equitable opportunities for women in the world of books and beyond.
As a registered charity, we improve access to and appreciation of women’s writing for all readers, providing an awards platform that champions brilliant women writers and role models while nurturing a supportive, global community of readers and writers.
Our work
Everything we do at the Women’s Prize Trust is underpinned by our mission to change the world through books by women, opening up pathways into reading and writing for the storytellers and booklovers of tomorrow.
Writers
We support writers at all stages of their writing journey, providing opportunities to engage with experts, develop the craft of writing, and find a peer group. Our flagship development programme for unpublished writers, Discoveries, aims to seek out, inspire and support writers from those early pages to long-term careers.
Readers
We support readers by improving access to and appreciation of women’s writing for all. To ensure that everyone can access the power and magic of books written by women, we donate thousands of books every year, we create free resources and programme lots of welcoming and fun events. We nurture a supportive and lively community of booklovers – come and join the chat on your social media channel of choice.

The People
The Women’s Prize Trust is powered by a small but mighty executive team, most of whom work part-time, and a board of trustees who volunteer their time and expertise. The team is responsible for management and execution, and the board is responsible for governance and strategic direction.
