Stacey Halls was born in 1989 and grew up in Rossendale, Lancashire. She studied journalism at the University of Central Lancashire and has written for publications including the Guardian, Stylist, Psychologies, The Independent, The Sun and Fabulous. Her first book The Familiars was the bestselling debut novel of 2019. She is the author of The Foundling, Mrs. England and The Household. Stacey Halls has been a Sunday Times bestseller six times over, is the winner of a Betty Trask Prize, has been shortlisted for the British Book Awards Debut Book of the Year and was named the winner of the 2022 Women’s Prize for Fiction and Good Housekeeping Futures Award for Mrs. England.
